Pearls are vulnerable to acid, alkaline and extreme humidity. They should not come in contact with cosmetics, hair spray or perfume. Always apply your makeup, perfume and finally wear your jewellery.
Pearl luster can be harmed by perspiration, hence always wipe them gently with a soft cloth before keeping your pearls in the jewellery box after wearing.
Do not wrap pearls in any kind of coloured paper or cloth which loses colour.
Pearls can be scratched by sharp objects or other gemstones, always keep them seperately.
Do not get your jewellery polished which has pearls attached to it.
Do not pull or tug strongly at your pearl necklace as they are strung with fine thread, and the thread may stretch or break. Always get your Pearl necklaces checked every few years.
Do not take a bath wearing pearl necklace as water may weaken the thread.
If pearls come in contact with vinegar, fruit juices or detergents, immediately wipe clean with soft cloth.
Ultrasonic cleaner should never be used with pearl jewellery as it can damage the pearls.
